Life Saving Foods Product Lines

Fortified Foods

Our first product is fortified instant noodles. We use multigrain flour and fortify it with sodium, zinc, iron, retinal, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pyridoxine, folic acid and cab amine to provide a high-energy and nutritious meal. The noodles are easy and quick to prepare, have a 12-month shelf life and appeal across age groups. We are currently testing the product in the Somalia market with plans to scale up production in early 2023.

Therapeutic and Supplementary Foods

Life Saving Foods (LSF) is establishing a modern green field factory in Mogadishu to expand and diversify the supply of emergency therapeutic foods in Somalia. LSF aims to become the leading local supplier of RUTF/RUSF to humanitarian partners in the next few years. For the longer term, LSF is investing in local farmers to source industry standard ingredients for the products locally.

What we’re working on

Design manufacturing equipment and production facilities with production slated for 2023. Our prototyping lab has developed the world’s first camel-meat flavoured seasoning for our fortified noodles.

Developing a proprietary flour blend to mitigate against existing shortages of wheat and to build locally available into the supply chain. Engaging regional & international technical partners.

Developed and taste tested instant noodle products and projecting to sell at below market rates.
