Suleiman Abdullahi

Founder & Managing Director

 

Suleiman Abdullahi is a Somalia expert with over a decade of experience in the public and private sector. He has worked for the Somali government, AMISOM, USAID and DfID (FCDO) and consulted extensively for development and humanitarian organizations across Somalia.

He has served as a subject matter expert advising local and international stakeholders on strategy and engagement opportunities in Somalia.

Suleiman is currently working to bridge the gap between private sector and development in Somalia with the aim of directing impactful investments that address constraints to Somalia’s recovery.

John Kangarua

Director of Food Service

 

John is an experienced Production Team Lead with a demonstrated history of working in the food and beverages industry. Most recently, he worked for one of the largest producers of therapeutic foods in Kenya and Nigeria as the Director of
Manufacturing.

Before this, he worked at Nestle for over 6 years on production, research and development. He’s a deeply experienced nutrition and food science specialist with a passion for food security. He sits on multiple boards and working groups advising on food safety standards, the development of school feeding programs for public schools and alternative formulations for therapeutic foods.

He has worked closely with UNICEF to explore local production alternatives for therapeutic foods and collaborated with USAID to develop local out-grower networks in Kenya and Nigeria.

 

John Gathairu

Research & Design Specialist

John is an experienced production team lead with expertise in research, design and quality assurance.
He has undertaken work on food recipe formulation, processing technology used in the food value chain including batching, mixing, drying, post-harvest storage, filling and packing as well as food quality systems and controls.
Before this, he worked at Nestle as a Production Technologist.
